Designer: Rachel Bishop
There is of course, no such thing as a blue lotus flower. Only Rachel Bishop's fertile imagination can turn a pink or white flower into soft shades of blue, but it is perfectly proper for the Moorcroft senior designer to use artistic licence. The pink variety is the national flower of India with seeds that have been proven fertile after more than 1300 years!
Perhaps in some other world of a designer's dreams, Rachel will find her blue lotus flower. About the mythical blue lotus flower, Rachel was adamant. At Moorcroft we live in a world which is full of dreams and myths. A blue lotus flower is as real as a blue tulip, and I would have no difficulty in working on a design which centres in a blue tulip. More than a century ago, William Moorcroft did exactly that. Obviously we are bound by the realities of a physical world, but the dreams and imagination has no boundaries.
